SUPPORTING FRAME FOR A BREEDER
Technical field of the invention
The present invention relates to a supporting frame for a grow box, of the type whose outside is not hard, for example, grow boxes whose frame or skeleton is covered on the outside with cloth or plastic. The frame consists of a number of horizontal and vertical bars which are crosswise connected at the ends by means of angular connecting pieces which thus form a prismatic bar structure consisting of a base piece, a top piece and at least four side walls perpendicular to the bottom and top piece stand.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
For some time now, grow boxes have been marketed, the outside of which is not hard, consisting of a frame or a skeleton covered with a cloth that is reflective on the inside, firm and opaque, these are intended for growing plants therein. The frame of these grow cabinets consists of a few light bars or tubes, generally of iron or aluminum, which are connected to each other at the ends by angular connectors forming a prismatic bar structure consisting of a bottom piece, a top piece running parallel to the bottom piece and four sides or side walls that are perpendicular to the bottom and top.
The upper part of the frame consists of four horizontally placed tubes which (depending on the desired dimensions) thus form a square or a rectangle which are connected to each other at the ends by the aforementioned angular connecting pieces, in which in addition to the two horizontal tubes the end is also placed is of a vertically placed tube that forms part of the sides of the grow cabinet. Optionally, in addition to the four interconnected main tubes that form the square, the top piece can be equipped with additional tubes that assist in facilitating support of devices used for indoor cultivation and which can be placed between two parallel main tubes. The rod structure of the upper part of the frame, and if there is any, of the extra tubes, is strong enough to support filter, extraction, light installations and other accessories for growing plants.
The rod structure that the bottom piece consists of, the supporting base on which the grow box rests on the ground, also consists of four tubes that are connected to each other at the ends and thus form a square thanks to the aforementioned angular connectors and that are also connected to the vertical tubes from the sides of the grow cabinet.
The cloth that covers the frame has at least one zipper, Velcro or similar system on one or a few of the sides of the frame for easy access to the inside of the grow cabinet or certain parts thereof.
The above-described culture cabinets can be easily mounted since it is sufficient to connect the correct bars to the angular connectors.
For the purpose of reducing the space for storing disassembled grow cabinets, the original vertical tubes or rods, which are considerably longer than the rods of the bottom and top section, because they actually determine the height of the grow cabinet, have been replaced by pairs of rods of which the end of one of these rods, the end that is attached to the bottom piece, is made such that it can be fitted or inserted within the end of the other. For this reason, the tube that forms the lower bar has a smaller outer diameter at one of its ends compared to the rest of the bar and that piece is adapted to be slid inside the end of the tube that makes up the other vertical bar, that is that is, the outer diameter of that piece must be slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the tube that forms the upper vertical bar.
Although it is true that the storage space is reduced, forming the lower vertical bars requires mechanical operations that complicate the production process of the frame of the grow cabinet and which must be given special attention when packing the parts of the grow cabinet because then three types of bars must be distinguished from each other, considering the length and shape thereof, then the eight horizontal bars of the base and upper part, the four lower vertical bars and the four upper vertical bars.
The need for a supporting frame for grow cabinets has been demonstrated, the production process and assembly of which are quick, safe and simple.
Explanation of the invention
For the purpose of providing a solution to the aforementioned problems, a supporting frame for a grow cabinet with a non-hard exterior, but one of, for example, cloth or plastic, is described here. The frame consists of a number of bars which are crosswise connected at the ends by means of angular connecting pieces into which a certain part of the ends of the bars is slid, so a prismatic bar structure is formed consisting of a bottom piece, an upper piece and at least four side walls that are perpendicular to the bottom and top section.
In essence, the frame is characterized by the fact that each corner point of the bottom part is connected to a corresponding corner point of the top part by means of two cylindrical, collinear rods connected to each other by means of a connecting sleeve, which is tubular and has open ends , suitable for tightly retracting the respective ends of the rods, the sleeve being equipped with a middle part whose inner section is narrowed and acting as a stop to prevent the ends of rods from being pushed into that narrowed middle part, the inner diameter of the narrowed middle part is smaller than the outer diameter of the rods that are slid into the ends of the sleeve and wherein the length of the narrowed middle part is equal to twice the difference between the length of an angular connector and the length of the piece of the end of a rod that is inserted into such an angular connecting piece, d the distances in the direction that connect the top piece to the bottom piece are considered as lengths.
For this reason, it is then no longer necessary to adjust the shape of the ends of the vertical bars to fit them into each other, and therefore the vertical bars can be produced in the same way as the rest of the bars of the frame, with identical inside and outside diameters, straight cut finished without the need to profile them. The connecting sleeve, since it covers the ends of the vertical bars that connect it to the outside, protects the bars against damage and guarantees a stable connection. Also, since the end of one of the vertical bars is separated from the end of the other bar by the narrowed middle part, it is prevented that unforeseen movement of one of the bars can cause the end of the other to wear. The narrowed middle part is a stopper which limits the length with which the vertical bars can be slid into the sleeve, and also serves to ensure that the user assembling the frame can see that the connection has been made correctly.
According to another feature of the invention, the difference in length between the two bars connected by the connecting sleeve is equal to or less than 20 cm, although they are preferably the same length.
In accordance with another feature of the invention, the length of all the bars that make up the prismatic structure is the same, that is, both the bars that form the bottom and top and the vertical bars connected by the sleeves. The fact that all bars, both the bars that are placed horizontally and the bars that are placed vertically in the mounted frame of the grow cabinet, have the same length considerably facilitates the production process, as well as the assembly of the frame by the user, since it is no longer necessary that it prepares the bars in advance in order to be able to distinguish the bars that form part of the bottom and top part from the bars that are placed vertically.
According to another feature of the invention, the ends of the connecting sleeve located on each side of the narrowed middle part comprise a ribbed inner piece provided with a number of grooves in the longitudinal direction in relief. These longitudinal grooves form a reinforcement of the section of the sleeve that is not narrowed, and this is precisely where the ends of the bars joined by the sleeve end up. The thickness of the grooves is such that the outside of the ends of the bars inserted therein can come into contact with those grooves.
In accordance with another feature of the invention, the narrowed part of the connecting sleeve consists of a cylindrical pipe piece with a smooth inside, the inside diameter of which is smaller than the outside diameter of the rods connected by the sleeve.
According to another feature of the invention, the length of the narrowed middle portion of the connecting sleeve is between 25% and 35% of the total length of the sleeve.

Detailed description of the images
In FIG. 3, the supporting frame 1 for a culture cabinet with a non-hard exterior, for example of cloth or plastic, is shown, in particular suitable as frame 1 of a culture cabinet in which the frame 1, which forms the skeleton of the culture cabinet, is covered with a sturdy, opaque and inside reflective fabric.
The frame 1 consists of a number of bars 3, 4, 5a, 5b which are crosswise connected at the ends by sliding them a certain distance in the angular connecting pieces 2 and thus forming a prismatic structure of a rectangular bottom and top piece . Thus, both the upper part of that prism that forms the ceiling of the grow box as soon as it is covered with the cloth, and the bottom part that forms the support on the ground, consists of four connected bars that are placed horizontally, two bars 3 in the longitudinal direction of the culture cabinet and two bars 4 in the width direction of the culture cabinet.
On the other hand, as can be seen in FIG. 4, associated with detail B of FIG. 3, the bars 5a and 5b that are placed vertically are connected to each other by a connecting sleeve 6, tubular, with open ends (see the entry points 9 in Fig. 5), while at the other end the vertical bars 5a and 5b are connected with one of the angular connection pieces 2 which also connect the horizontal bars 3 and 4 that form the bottom and top part of the prism.
In FIG. 1, the frame 1 of FIG. 3 with the vertical bars 5a and 5b disconnected from the associated connection sleeves 6, in order to be able to see more clearly that the length of the bars 3, 4, 5a and 5b is the same for all bars, so that there is no distinction for assembly between the bars 3, 4, 5a or 5b, they are all tubular bars of a cylindrical section with the same diameter. This fact facilitates the mounting of the frame 1 since the user can connect three arbitrary bars to each other in the three respective internal housings arranged in the angular connection pieces 2 and also the user does not have to figure out which bars are connected to the connection sleeve 6 when the height of the grow cabinet.
For reasons of weight and simplicity, the bars 3, 4, 5a and 5b are preferably tubular with a cylindrical section, not cylindrical bars with a solid section, as shown in the detail of FIG. 2 (see end of rod 5b), although the frame 1 of Figures 1 and 3 could very well consist of solid rods connected in the same manner as indicated above.
In FIG. 5, the connecting sleeve 6 is shown schematically. The connecting sleeve consists of a cylindrical body with open ends suitable for tightly sliding the respective ends of the vertical bars 5a and 5b therein. The connecting sleeve 6 is provided with a narrowed middle part 7 in the inner section that acts as a stop (see top of the stop 10 in Fig. 5) that limits the entry of the ends of the bars 5a and 5b into the sleeve 6. Therefore, the inner diameter of the narrowed middle part 7 is smaller than the outer diameter of the bars 5a and 5b. Thus, when the rod 5a is pushed into the entrance opening 9, there comes a point at which the end touches the outside of the plug 10, this is the point from which the inner section of the sleeve 6 becomes narrower, thereby preventing the rod 5a goes further in, a situation shown in FIG. 6. The length of the narrowed middle part of the sleeve 6 is twice the length of the narrowing on the inside of the angular connection pieces 2, that is to say double the difference between the length of an angular connection piece 2 and the distance by which a vertical rod 5a or 5b is inserted into that connecting piece 2. The length of the narrowed central part 7 of the sleeve 6 is preferably between 25% and 35% of the total length of the sleeve 6.
It should be mentioned here that preferably the outer pieces of the connecting sleeve 6 which are located on each side of the narrowed middle part 7 have a ribbed inner side provided with a number of grooves 10 in the longitudinal direction in relief. These longitudinal grooves form a reinforcement of the section of these ends of the sleeve 6, and this is precisely where the ends of the bars 5a and 5b are inserted. In contrast, the inside of the narrowed middle part 7 consists of a cylindrical wall with a smooth surface and a smaller inside diameter than the outside diameter of the bars 5a and 5b connected by the sleeve 6.
